Northern State University seeks two to three full-time Instructors and/or Tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Professors of Nursing with a negotiable start date.Qualifications:Our department seeks an individual with a Masters degree in Nursing, Doctorate preferred, with a commitment to nursing education. The successful candidate will participate in the development of curriculum in a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) program, teach coursework throughout the program, and contribute to accreditation needs. Candidate must also be licensed by the South Dakota Board or Nursing or eligible for licensure in South Dakota. Teaching experience is preferred. For a tenure-track professorial role, the ability to conduct research in the candidate’s area of expertise is expected.Responsibilities: The applicant will teach nine to 15 credit hours per semester, depending on lecturer or professorial contract, in both introductory and upper-level undergraduate nursing courses, depending on the expertise of the applicant and departmental needs. The applicant will engage in ongoing professional development, remaining current in the discipline of nursing and preferred area of specialization. The applicant will also assist with student success and work collaboratively to expand the nursing curriculum in interdisciplinary ways. Other expectations include research and scholarly activity, if applicable, experience with simulation technologies and distance delivery, career advising, fostering connections with community organizations, maintaining a strong campus presence, supporting student recruitment and retention efforts, and other duties as assigned.
