The successful candidate will shape and implement a strategic marketing plan for the business to reflect the business goals and ambitions.Working closely with executives and stakeholders in the business both centrally and regionally, this role will be focused on driving brand awareness and consideration with key audiences and geographies, through integrated thought leadership campaigns which position Howden as an industry leader. The initial focus for the role will be on climate risk. Howden’s Climate Risk and Resilience team provides climate advisory and risk transfer solutions to help accelerate and de-risk the move towards a low carbon economy, build societal resilience, and mitigate the impacts of climate change.It is a global team are specialists in all facets of climate science, combining experience in private and public sector, as well as academia, and a deep understanding of the inner workings of the insurance and financial markets. This depth and breadth of expertise allows them to call on true subject-matter proficiency to deliver effective solutions, instil confidence, build resilience, and bring insurance solutions to derisk clients’ future and support their journey to net zero.At Howden, we believe that insurance is more than just a financial product; it is a force for good, capable of effecting positive change in people’s lives, the environment, the economy and the world at large.The candidateYou will be a self-starter who can listen and collaborate with different parts of the business, cross function and borders. This is a new role in a growing company and team, so you will be comfortable with ambiguity, developing strategies as well as rolling your sleeves up to deliver the plan. Demonstrating impact will be critical to success and future investment. The position is based in London. You will report into the Group Head of Brand & Marketing and be a member of the Climate Risk and Resilience executive team. Key responsibilitiesDevelop a strategy to deliver a fully integrated brand marketing campaign for the business, initially with a focus on climate risk and resilienceBuild strong relationships with local & global business and marketing leads to assess campaign opportunities and plan activity accordingly, building out a global campaign marketing roadmap for the businessPlan the local execution of the strategy across different regions, considering cultural and social nuances, insights, and dataDevelop hard working plans through collaboration with the wider network of marketing and communications functional experts, including (but not limited to) events, sponsorship, digital, brand, content, social media and communicationsWork with the Brand Strategy Director to assess brand awareness within key markets and how marketing strategies can make an impactOwn and oversee the marketing budget and ROI on spendDevelop and define measurements of success and KPIs to assess campaign success to inform future campaign tacticsLead on reporting results to senior stakeholders and building the profile of how marketing campaigns can support with brand awarenessExperienceEssentialA strong understanding of the role different types of media and marketing initiatives play in driving brand awareness, consideration, conversion, and retention, and how channels interact with each other and how they come together to provide measurable resultsTeam-oriented approach with ability to take initiative, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet stakeholder expectations and deadlines across multiple projectsAbility to interact and communicate across a variety of stakeholder groups (technical subject matter experts to business owners) with the ability to present complex information in easily understandable format and tailored to the audienceComfortable working in a decentralised global organisationAbility to think strategically and execute tacticallyAn excellent communicator (verbal and
