Salary: £50,000 - £58,000
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Customer Support Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
To support in field customer warranty, diagnosis, repairs and training tasks.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execution of training tasks, internally and externally with customer community.
- Customer product support both internally and externally.
- Diagnostics, maintenance and repair of bridging equipment and supporting vehicles in the field in compliance with technical service instructions and statutory regulations.
- Independent deployment at a customer’s site and able to travel worldwide without any restrictions.
- Compliance with and monitoring of statutory regulations, in particular those involving safety at work and environmental protection.
- Responsible for the preparation of work/training sites, materials and tools.
- Independent management of training in collaboration with a technical team
- Execution of fault-finding, maintenance/repair work on all maintenance stages.
- Project management including generation of work breakdown structures, cost estimates, and performance specifications.
- Training and instructing new employees.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified maintenance technician, certified technician or equivalent or time served fitter/mechanic.
- Driving licence.
- Good command of English language, written and spoken.
- Good PC skills, particularly with the common MS Office applications.
- Application of problem solving and resolution techniques.
- Hands on approach.
- Adaptable.
- Willingness to travel (abroad).
- Customer focussed.
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
Desirable:
- HGV Driving licence.
- Previous experience of Military bridging such as MGB or similar.
- Relevant experience in vehicle maintenance, ideally in the field of heavy commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural machinery or special vehicle manufacture.
- Skill and experience in the operation of diagnostic equipment, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
