Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a manufacturer to recruit a CNC 4/5 axis Programmer  to join their site in Chesterfield. 


  • Shift- Monday to Thursday 6am till 4pm – very occasional overtime needed on Friday and Saturday 
  • Salary- £41600  
  • Benefits- 7% combined pension, bonus scheme, overtime available, perk box, holidays

Our client is looking for a CNC Programmer who can work well in a team coupled with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 

Duties and Responsibilities of the CNC Programmer 


  • Work to a standardised naming convention 
  • CAD model creation 
  • Use Lean techniques to improve and sustain continuous improvement 
  • Jig and tooling fixture design 
  • Use of PC Microsoft office tools  
  • Working with members of management and staff to identify, address, and eliminate obstacles either process or people-related. 
  • Identifying long and short-term objectives to support the organisations goals.

In order to be successful the CNC Programmer will need to have the following skills & experience:  


  • NVQ level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering. 
  • Demonstrable experience of programming various multi axis CNC and manual machines in basic and intricate machining procedures 
  • DNC specific experience 
  • Strong background in programming complex 5 Axis details in hard and soft metals 
  • CNC Machine 3 & 5 Axis offline programming 
  • Experience in CNC Horizontal Milling machines (Okuma)  
  • Working to AS9100 / EASA Part 21 (G) standards  
  • Experience of 3D printing would be an advantage- SolidWorks and Fusion 360 
  • Understand NPI process 
  • An understanding of the importance of Quality and Production control 
  • Workshop/Office 5s discipline and housekeeping 
  • Experience of Automation and robotics would be advantageous 
  • Development and execution of Standard Operating Processes (S.O.P.)
