page.Hours: Full Time – 37 hours per weekThe role will require to you to be available to provide an out of hours Press Office function being on-call one week in four, overnight, on Bank Holidays and at weekends.Location: We encourage flexible working and believe that work is what you do, not where you do it. The role will be based at Service Headquarters in Salisbury, with the flexibility to work from home / DWFRS stations / Support Offices as required. We are responsible for all internal and external communications, our digital platforms, crisis communications, corporate events, advising on consultation – and much more!We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team, who has the skills, organisation and willingness to learn our systems. The right person will help us develop our communications even further and give our staff and our communities the best service possible.As a Communication Officer (Website and Digital) in our Communications & Engagement team, you will:Develop, support and monitor the Service’s digital platforms (intranet and website), ensuring these are maintained and updated in line with procedures, and respond to queries. Deliver training as appropriate.Work with managers across the organisation to identify internal and external opportunities for digital communication in support of the Service’s priorities.Maximise the use of all digital communications channels, including proactive consideration of technology advances, to support the successful delivery of projects, campaigns and Service priorities.Be part of the Service’s press office function, developing media releases and responding to queries as required, and providing cover to the out of hours rota (being on-call one week in four, overnight, on Bank Holidays and at weekends).What makes you our ideal person?4 GCSE passes – Grade A* - C / 9 - 4 including English and Mathematics / equivalent Level 2 qualification / or higher level qualification and a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification.Similar working or practical experience in a media environment/role.Experience of developing press releases and public campaigns including written, digital and social media communications.Confident in using a range of Microsoft Office products and use of social media management tools.For full details of the role and requirements please have a look at the job description and person specification.Other Information:You must have a full current driving licence and be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the role to provide the out of hours Duty Press Officer role. Use of your own vehicle will be required; however, a Service vehicle may be available. Please note Service vehicles are manual transmission only. If you are unable to drive due to a disability, we would still welcome your application and will explore any reasonable adjustments that could be put in place.The role involves some evening and weekend working on a rota basis to provide a press office function, and as required to support campaigns and events organised by the Communications & Engagement Team.
