Component Repair Engineer
A critical addition to the team following significant investment and development you will ne an experienced Engineer with significant hands-on Gas Turbine experience. Mosty likely ex-forces or oil and gas you will be working from the companY;S Tayside headquarters. A salary and benefits package will run inline with your experience but what is most important is getting the right person with a great work ethic and attitude and a desire to push and deliver more.
* The development, planning and implementation of repair work scopes for gas turbine components.
* Production of documentation / drawings, tooling design etc.
* Communication and support to customers, suppliers, and internal personnel.
* Application of new Product Introduction (NPI) principles and working within a gated process
* Focus on the key performance indicators of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
* Experience of weld / braze / heat treat / NDT
* Experience in the production of FAIR documentation.
* Ability to plan work scopes and estimate tasks.
* Prior experience of working within a continuous improvement environment and the ability to drive improvement actions.
* An understanding of standard engineering principles and processes.
* Problem solving and ability to work with minimal product information.
* Ability to develop, discuss and describe engineering solutions to technical issues.
* The capability to handle multiple projects / scopes of work simultaneously.
* Equally capable of working on own initiative or as part of a team.
* Have well developed inter-personal and communication skills.
* AutoCAD capability / MS software literacy.
Internal Stakeholders are:
* Customer Support - customer specific requirements and contract review
* Logistics - Sub-con scheduling
* Purchasing - Sub-con order placement
* Quality - involvement in NCR investigation
* Operations - planning of NPI work and production support
The candidate selected for this position will be experienced in their role with a relevant qualification or approval by the engineering manager and will have direct relevant experience in an industrial/aero/ manufacturing environment.
The candidate selected for this position will be:
* Degree / HND qualification or completion of apprenticeship.
Advantageous:
* Aerospace or gas turbine component repair experience.
* Technical knowledge of tool design and manufacture.
LEAN/continuous improvement principles and techniques.
