Deputy Headteacher: Quality of EducationStart date: September 2024Salary: L19-L23The Governors of Hadley Learning Community Secondary Phase are looking for an inspirational leader who can make a real difference to the life chances of our young people.Hadley Learning Community is a vibrant and forward-thinking all-through school for students from 5 – 16 years of age, located in the community of Hadley in Telford. The school opened on the 1st September 2006 and became a proud member of the Learning Community Trust in 2018.The school is a £70 million PFI project, in partnership with Mitie, which represents a major investment by the Borough of Telford and Wrekin Council in creating an exceptional 21st Century learning campus for our students. The campus consists of:1200 place secondary phase for 11-16 year olds, with 240 students in each year group.630 place primary phase for 5-11 year olds with 90 children, in three classes, in each year group.Community facilities, called The Circle, for sports which includes a swimming pool and fitness suite, as well as a Public Library, Coffee shop, Theatre and Dance Studio all used by the public during the day, evenings, weekends and holidays.Hadley Learning Community is built in the heart of its community, and this has shaped the vision and ethos that is embedded in our successful school.Our daily pillars of Belong, Respect, Inspire, Succeed and Enjoy provide solid foundations for teachers’ daily practice and act as a mantra for our students’ lives within their school.Since opening, the school has established a culture of success creating young adults that are well respected within our society.Our results have historically placed us within the top five schools nationally for progress and this is a reflection of the thorough systems, routines and high quality of education that are established within HLC.We are a driven school and recognise the need to keep moving forwards to provide our young people with the best educational and life experience.Ofsted recognised in the most recent inspection in 2022 that ‘there is enough evidence of improved performance to suggest that the HLC could be judged outstanding if we were to carry out a section 5 inspection now’.We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher to support the strategic leadership and management of the school, creating and maintaining a dynamic, reflective learning environment which is engaging and fulfilling for all students.Working with the Quality of Education team and our Instructional Coaches, you will ensure a culture that fosters continuous improvement in the quality of education offered to our young people.Within this role, the key strategic responsibilities include: leading the Quality of Education team (designing and evaluating curriculum provision and developing teaching and learning); leading Subject Leaders’ development and co-ordinating quality assurance processes alongside our SLT and middle leaders to improve outcomes for all students.We are offering a superb opportunity for the successful candidate to work within a school that is innovative, dynamic and caring.
