ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As the company continues its rapid growth and international expansion, we are growing our
design team with a new role as Design Project Manager reporting to the Chief Experience and Design Officer
The Design team consists of 12 people and is further supported by a pool of freelancers.
This new role has been created both due to the demands of the company and to support the Chief Experience and Design Officer who is broadening his role and responsibilities to include external and internal customer experience.
The Design Project Manager would be expected to deliver the following benefits:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, providing clear and timely communication on project status, risks, and changes
Develop a deep understanding of the project requirements, objectives, and deliverables, using this knowledge to drive project planning and execution
Review and analyse design briefs to ensure they contain all necessary information
Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and gather additional details if needed
Create detailed project plans, workback schedules, and timelines to ensure efficient and successful delivery of all project elements
Schedule and prioritise design tasks in collaboration with managers and other team members
Manage day-to-day project activities, including but not limited to scope, budget, resources, quality, and schedule
Proactively identify and manage risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, escalating as necessary to ensure timely resolution
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, to deliver high-quality project outputs
Coordinate with freelancers and external design resources to assign and manage design projects
Reviewing and updating project plans based on changes in scope or schedule to ensure that the project stays on track; ensure all impacted parties are kept up-to-date on approved changes
Communicating with team members to ensure they are meeting deadlines, resolving issues, and following procedures
Manage change requests and conduct post-project reviews to document successes, lessons learned, and areas for improvement
QA of design materials before handing them over to the requester
Track and create reports on projects metrics, turnaround time, issues, roadblocks and progress
Maintain project documentation and files for future reference
Working with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure expectations are met and discussing feedback to further enhance design processes and workflows
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practice
Continuously develop personal and professional skillset through active participation in relevant training and development opportunities
WHAT DO YOU NEED
You must have:
Degree in graphic design, project management, or related field
Demonstrable experience of successfully managing design projects using either Agile or Waterfall methodology
Strong understanding of the design process, including user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse design briefs effectively
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders and team members
Experience of effectively managing and reporting on budgets
Proficiency in project management tools
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Problem-solving and decision-making skills to resolve issues and challenges during project execution
Ability to provide clear instructions and feedback to freelancers and team members
It would be nice if you have:
Experience in the technical side of design
Experience with project management software, such as Asana
Familiarity with design principles and processes
