Job Description
Director (Energy Regulation) -Salary up to £125,000 base - London, United Kingdom (with extensive travel)
Chi Square Economics is partnering with a boutique economic consultancy which is looking for an experienced economist in the energy regulation space to join its growing economics team in London.
The team tackles projects within the utilities space such as energy (gas, electricity, renewables), water, and finance and are now looking for a Director to head up its energy regulation practice. If you’re an economist already in London, or keen to relocate there, this could be the perfect role for you!
Role
You will be a key member of the economics team working on predominantly microeconomics projects with a focus on energy regulation and policy (such as electricity, renewables, water, oil, gas and many more). You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of leading clients and colleagues in this space across the globe. You will also be part of an inclusive team that are experts in their field and motivated to remain the ‘go-to’ consultancy in this industry.
As a Director, you will be leading a small team of economists to answer complex questions from clients in the energy regulation space. You will be a key voice in the way the company grows, along with having heavy responsibilities on identifying business development opportunities as your career grows with them.
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
At least a Master’s degree in Economics
Extensive experience in a regulator, consultancy, or industry specific sector
Experience winning projects in the energy space
Strong knowledge in energy regulation & policies in the utilities space
Ability to communicate, pitch, and write presentations to the team and stakeholders
Prior experience managing a small team
Right to work in the UK (sponsorship will be based on individual cases)
