London - Manchester - Nottingham - Hybrid working model.

An exciting opportunity to secure a permanent position as an Economic Regulation Manager, based in either London, Manchester or Nottingham on a hybrid working model. With a track record of working in a government department, Civil Servant, regulator, consultancy firm, regulated business you will report to the Head of Price Control and will lead on a range of activities across DCC’s price control and incentives framework. What will you be doing? Lead significant aspects of DCC’s annual price control submission, acting as subject matter expert across a range of areas and a key point of coordination across the organisation.
Provide analytical and policy leadership across a range of Price Control and Economic Incentive issues.
Lead on the development of ExCo, Board or other similar papers on Price Control issues such as updates, emerging risks, and regulatory developments.
Support and advise on improvements to the Price Control process, working closely with the Price Control team and across the organisation.
Work across DCC to deliver greater awareness of the role of price control, developing a strategic approach to avoid price control disallowances and/or margin loss.
Support the wider regulatory team on the policy regarding DCC’s incentive schemes.
Be an advocate for high quality economic regulatory thinking across DCC. What are we looking for? Significant experience of providing economic analysis on regulatory, policy and/or business issues.
Significant experience of leading large projects within a multi-disciplinary team.
Strong aptitude in distilling complex issues into easily understandable concepts for a range of audiences.
Ability to engage with and balance the views of various internal and external stakeholders to promote an evidence-based position or policy. E xtensive experience of engaging with senior stakeholders (both internal and external) and presenting at senior level meetings, including colleagues, senior management and ExCo.
Ability to influence and persuade others of a particular position or viewpoint.
In all dealings, role-model our core values of making a difference, acting with integrity and being accountable. Skills and Experiences Desirable. Master’s degree in economics or a related analytical subject (e.g., mathematics, engineering)
Experience of working within a regulated sector, such as energy, telecoms, water/wastewater
