Environmental Advisor Opportunity at OCU Group
Due to a sustained period of continued growth, OCU Group now have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join our team based in Delamere. We are currently looking for an Environmental Advisor, this role would suit a proactive self-starting individual who embraces challenges, and has a desire to make a positive change. This role will be based out of our Delamere office.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Understand the Company Health & Safety and Environmental (SHE) Policies and Processes: Understand the statutory requirements affecting the company's operations and ensure implementation.
Work with Senior SHE Manager to develop Environmental Management Plan: Manage, implement, and monitor the plan including environmental key performance indicators.
Provide operational management advice: Offer advice on practical implementation of environmental policies to internal and external stakeholders.
Develop Environmental Management plans: Coordinate reviews for continual improvement.
Assist in identification of environmental consents and permits: Maintain a schedule for all consents, permits and exemptions.
Ensure assurance processes for compliance: Monitor compliance with permits and conduct appropriate monitoring.
Coordinate actions to meet Resource Efficiency Matrix and Climate Change Action Plan: Influence design and construction teams to minimize carbon emissions.
Lead on data collation for environmental KPI's: Develop plans to meet objectives and targets.
Establish relationships with external stakeholders: Manage relationships with local authorities, EA, Natural England etc.
Undertake SHE Advisory Visits, Inspections and Audits: Participate in audits and inspections as required.
Prepare and facilitate SHE training/ briefings: Upskill operational teams and workforce.
Maintain knowledge and competency in Environmental Management: Update qualifications and professional membership.
Essential:
Degree or equivalent (NVQ level 5), PIEMA or equivalent, significant environmental management experience, Driving Licence, flexible and dynamic mindset.
Desirable:
Environmental Masters or equivalent, Chartered environmentalist (CEnv/ MIEMA or equivalent).
