We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and driven graduate engineer who is keen to develop their career. You will be responsible for assisting others with design work on projects and tasks, with moderate supervision, to ensure the tasks are delivered as briefed. This includes communicating with the client, other consultants and colleagues in the delivery of projects whilst maintaining a positive client relationship. As part of this role you will have a commitment to self-development and the improvement of your technical skills and knowledge.Candidates must reflect Perega’s values of being collaborative, forward thinking, passionate, approachable and enriching our community.Responsibilities of the roleExecute and coordinate work as directed by senior staffAssist with the preparation of sketch plans, working drawings, specifications and reportsAssist with planning site investigation worksAssist with preparing feasibility studies and providing design adviceAssist with the development and use of computer-based systems to improve efficiencyUndertake site inspection and attend site meetingsProduce designs, assessments and calculations in accordance with quality proceduresLiaise effectively with clients, other design team members and third partiesUnderstand and adhere to existing working practices, methods and proceduresAdopt ‘best practice’Work within the given programme and cost constraintsProactive in self-developmentUniversity degree in civil or structural engineeringGood understanding of engineering principlesGood interpersonal skillsProactive approach to workCommitment to continual improvement at a personal and company levelGood understanding of construction proceduresAble to produce hand calculations and sketches of structural elementsConversant in designing to British Standards/UK version of EurocodesConversant in designing structures in concrete, steelwork, timber and masonryAble to use computer design software packagesUnderstanding of CDM regulations and the responsibilities of a designerAble to understand engineering conceptsGood written and verbal communication skillsAble to produce accurate and clear sketchesAble to work effectively within and across teams and with colleaguesKnowledge of design software and its limitationsKnowledge of AutoCADSalary will be a competitive package, commensurate with experience.Perega put people first.
