Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Energy from Waste Power Company to recruit a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor for its site in Hull.
The HSE Advisor role comes with a starting salary of up to �57,000, private medical, and a bonus.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Plant Manager you will:
  • Support the HSE department, ensuring HSE is integral and proactively management throughout all phases of projects and operations, ensuring accurate reporting is ongoing.
  • Deliver the HSE operations and tactical plan.
  • Create and implement site inductions to site personnel and visitors.
  • Provide support for any investigations of accidents and incidents, to help address root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver site assurance activities including internal and external audits to demonstrate compliance with ISO standards.
  • Ensure observation processes re maintenance and respond to raised observations accordingly.
  • Be trained in emergency response and provide updates to emergency plans.
  • Be a trained COSHH and PUWER assessor and carry out assessments on site.
  • Understand the Permit to Work process and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements as required.
  • Conduct site inspections.
  • Work with delivery / operations and subcontractors eco system to establish and drive best HSE management practices.
  • Perform nominated supervisor role under the site's control of work process.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
  • Experience in a HSE role working in a similar environment (power, refineries, petrochemical etc)
  • Any experience as a COSHH or PUWER assessment would be hugely beneficial.
  • Willing to travel in the UK as required.
