Lead GCP Architect

Job DescriptionRemote / Flexible to travel Duration till EOY We are seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Architect to join our clients' team within a major financial institution. This role demands robust technical expertise to deliver high-quality, large-scale IT solutions in the Cloud (GCP), aligning with the latest technological advances and on-premise requirements. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in complex, large-scale environments, preferably in financial services.Key Responsibilities:Architect and ensure the platform reflects product needs and enterprise requirements, collaborating closely with various teams for alignment.Develop and maintain platform roadmaps, ensuring architectures are cost-effective, compliant, and appropriate.Oversee solution designs ensuring they are compliant with platform architecture and strategic roadmaps.Address operational issues in product architecture and integrate solutions into the change backlog continuously.Work alongside Technical Product Managers, Product Owners, Solutions Architects, and Technical Leads to refine business requirements into detailed stories for execution.Ensure end-to-end solution architecture strategy and designs are strategically aligned and cost-effective.Manage risks effectively and escalate issues in a timely manner.Maintain compliance with architecture governance and standards, and partner with external suppliers to define architecture patterns and integration approaches.Stay updated with technology trends and effectively communicate these to peers and stakeholders.Requirements:Extensive experience as a Lead Architect on major projects or complex programmes (budgets of $5m+).Background in Retail Banking Lending (Mortgages, Loans, Credit Cards) with specific experience in automated decisioning, origination, and servicing designs.Strong expertise in AI/ML technologies, preferably including Generative AI, and experience with automated decisioning via AI, ML, or declarative rulesets.GCP Certification or equivalent cloud technology expertise.Exceptional communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.Deep understanding of architecture processes including Reviews and Design Authority.Experience with API architectures, UI frameworks (e.g., React, Angular), databases (e.g., Postgres, BigQuery), and data processing technologies (e.g., Spark, BQ SQL).Ability to deliver in a matrixed organization and work effectively with ambiguous problems.Exposure to international or global projects is preferred.Apply now!
