Management Accountant

Management Accountant – Part-Qualified – £40,000 to £45,000 per year – Portsmouth - Hybrid

FryerMiles are delighted to be working with this global Pharmaceutical company to assist in the recruitment of a Management Accountant to join their team.

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for full month-end preparation, journal entries, payroll management, and payments processing for the group. Additionally, you will spearhead the implementation of robust month-end processes and conduct HMRC VAT checks to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform full month-end preparation, including reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
• Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
• Manage payments for the group, including supplier invoices and employee expenses.
• Conduct regular HMRC VAT checks, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Implement and maintain proper month-end closing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Facilitate the integration of financial processes and systems following the acquisition of the US business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Utilise Microsoft Dynamics for financial reporting and analysis
• Provide support and guidance to junior members of the finance team.

Hybrid Working:

3 days in-office, 2 days remote

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field would be highly desirable
• ACCA/CIMA qualification (part-qualified or finalist) is highly desirable.
• Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
