Salary: £34,580 pro rataJob Grade: Level 2, Zone 2Work Location: Unit 1B, Berol House, 25 Ashley Road, London, N17 9LJ, primaryschools around north London and remote workingHours per week: 36Contract Type: Temporary (2 x 6-month positions, 1 x 12-month position)Employed by the London Borough of Camden, we are recruiting for 3 Outreach and EngagementOfficers who will be based in North London Waste Authority (NLWA), serving Camden and six othernorth London boroughs.About the role If you are an enthusiastic, outgoing person looking for a diverse role that gets you out andabout, an Outreach and Engagement Officer is ideally suited. Within the role, you will assistin the delivery of various outreach events and engagement activities across north London. Theaim will be to raise awareness of how to reduce waste, increase recycling and reuse and promoteservices available to residents. You will therefore be able to provide correct information tothe public via face-to-face events with audiences that have varying degrees of knowledge andunderstanding of waste related issues.You will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders to identify opportunities for outreachevents and scheduling your time. You will also contribute towards the monitoring and evaluationof engagement activities. Hence, time management, organisation and punctuality are all keyattributes of the post holder. Alongside the delivery of face-to-face outreach, the post holder will assist with the widerWaste Prevention team’s project work. Examples of such work include engaging with businesses orcorresponding with recipients of the North London Community Fund to monitor their progress.The role will be a mixture of desk-based and face-to-face work. All temporary workers areexpected to be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to their postand may be asked to perform other duties.About You Do you enjoy engaging with people in a variety of different settings? Are you a strongcommunicator who’s passionate about the environment? An Outreach and Engagement Officer will bean approachable, confident person who has experience with working in public settings andinteracting with members of the public. We are seeking individuals with an adaptable nature, who can show initiative working in a rangeof settings and be proactive in their approach to delivering their work. You don’t shy awayfrom the challenge of influencing people to demonstrate pro-environmental behaviours.Self-motivated and enthusiastic individuals will thrive in this role. You will be able to organise your diary, be punctual in your attendance and responses tocorrespondence, and have practical experience of MS Office.Whilst not mandatory, possession of a valid and clean UK driving licence would be advantageous.Additional informationPotential applicants are encouraged to reach out to discuss the role, to answer any questionsyou may have.
