Our client are an award-winning HR advisor business, providing centralised management and advice with their own technology platforms for HR, Payroll, and Employee Benefit & wellbeing solutions. As they grow, they now require an additional Payroll Advisor to join an established team.



The Payroll Advisor will work collaboratively with the team of payroll advisers, processing payrolls for clients, keeping accurate employee records and handling general office administration. Additionally, you will assist the Payroll Manager to ensure the efficient running of the team, supporting the development and implementation of robust systems and processes, providing payroll advice and support to existing and prospective clients.Wider responsibilities will include:




  • Attend company meetings as required, including 1:1 assessments

  • Keep up to date with industry developments

  • Attain appropriate levels of competency as set by your line manager in your personal development plan and through regular in-house testing

  • Manage an allocated portfolio of payroll clients, working within a team to meet deadlines and ensure the accurate and efficient running of monthly, weekly, 2 weekly and 4 weekly pay runs

  • Ensure the internal payroll system is accurate and up to date across all client records

  • Liaise with clients via telephone and email, providing advice and guidance on all matters relating to payroll

  • Remain competent with HMRC guidance and updates and where necessary liaise with HRMC on behalf of clients

  • Deal with allocated incoming & outgoing post. Printing and scanning of documentation including issuing of payslips, P45's & P60's

  • Upload of monthly pension contributions via online provider portals

  • Processing BACs payments

  • Attend allocated new business client meetings either via telephone orface to face, working towards agreed annual targets



The ideal candidate for the role of Payroll Advisor will have:




  • A thorough understanding of UK Payroll

  • Ability to work efficiently within a team

  • Accurate numeracy is essential

  • Reliability and ability to work well under pressure

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good verbal and written communication

  • Typing and ability to use Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Have integrity, be analytical, active problem-solving abilities, be results driven

  • Full UK Driving licence



Desirable:




  • CIPP qualification desirable but not essential
