Role Summary

• Day to day management of the workshop, technicians, and apprentices


• Ensure deadlines are met and delays are communicated promptly and clearly.


• Control arrival and departure documents/images, contribute to customer invoicing process.


• Quality check all documentation to ensure processes are followed and any issues rectified

Key Responsibilities

• Working to agreed workshop schedule and priorities.


• Assist in work estimates and producing standard job times.


• Manage labour booking data and report on variances to estimates (actual vs planned)


• Manage job cards and ensure technician labour bookings are concise and accurate.


• Liaise with Operations Manager daily to agree priorities and areas of focus.


• Ensure and document continued compliance with workshop basics, Directives, and SOPs


• Mentor apprentices and work with training partner to deliver apprenticeship programme.


• Support the Operations Manager in communicating and improving KPIs.


• Identify and manage team training programmes and development needs.


• Ensure Health and Safety regulations are met, and safe working practices are adhered to.

Experience and Required Skills

• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills


• Deadline management


• Leadership & management experience


• Proven ability to motivate and develop a team


• Experience working within the automotive industry would be ideal, however not essential.
