This role will report to a Project Financial Manager within the Project Finance Department of the broader Accounting and Finance organization. The Project Finance Department oversees the financial performance of more than 20,000 projects on an annual basis acting as the business advisor to project managers, operations management, and executive leadership. The department’s focus is in on providing three key items to the company (1) providing business advisory to all levels of the organization in relation to financial projects, (2) focusing on transactional excellence in supporting financial projects, and (3) ensuring adequate compliance and controls regarding policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesOversees and leads a team of Project Financial AnalystsOversight and responsible for the month end close of their respective portfolio(s)Strategic Partner and Advisory to Business Operations for the respective portfolio(s)Manage and interpret contracts for proper revenue recognitionEnd to end project administration including contract review, system set up, and ensuring accurate revenue recognition, billing, collections and project close out.Ownership of all project financial metrics including Revenue, Margin, Unbilled, AR, Backlog.Manage Month-End Close process for assigned projects including ensuring accuracy and compliance and driving results to reach department goals for Revenue, Margin, Unbilled & AR.Manage annual audit process for assigned projects.Partner with the Project Manager(s) in financial support of the projects.Review monthly results (Revenue, GM, Unbilled, AR, Backlog) with PMs, Operations Leadership, and Project Financial Managers providing high level analysis of performance.Lead the planning, documentation, and execution of department wide initiativesDrive process improvement identifying pain points or inefficiencies, determining solutions, and leading the testing and implementation of those solutions.Collaborate with cross functional teams to provide appropriate finance support when necessaryRequirements and QualificationsHybrid Role – into an office part of the week. We have offices across the UK and Ireland including London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of relevant experience (revenue analyst, project accounting, auditor, etc.)Experience and understanding of revenue recognition principlesExperience in reviewing the performance of project financialsExcellent communication; both written and verbal – looking for someone who can train, explain, and win hearts and minds.Ability to read, interpret, and understand contract terms and conditions and provide reviews where required.Ability to independently prioritize in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical skills in evaluating project performanceAbility to manage specialized internal projects in Accounting/FinanceExperience with process implementation, refinement, and documentation of sameExperience with large scale ERP is preferredExperience working in an Intl organisation supporting the UK, Ireland and EU is preferred Why you should join Jensen Hughes:
