Position: Project Manager



Location: Workington, Cumbria



Salary: Approximately £43,000 - £50,000PA





Are you ready to advance your career in design engineering? We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Workington. In this role, you'll oversee projects across various industry sectors, acting as the primary client contact and ensuring successful project delivery within schedule, quality, and budget constraints.





Key Responsibilities:




  • Serve as the main client contact, ensuring accurate interpretation of client requirements and maintaining positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Provide leadership to Assistant Project Managers, Project Planners, and technical teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.

  • Take overall responsibility for project delivery in accordance with Business Management Systems.

  • Identify and address potential risks and opportunities to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Utilize Product Breakdown Structures (PBS), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) for effective project management.

  • Regularly review project schedules and costs, implementing change control procedures as needed.

  • Build confidence among stakeholders, including senior management and clients, regarding project progress.

  • Manage internal and subcontractor relationships to expedite project delivery while meeting technical, programmatic, safety, and commercial requirements.

  • Maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Contribute to the bid process for multi-discipline projects by providing resource and cost/time estimate information.

  • Demonstrate proactive client management with strategic thinking.

  • Oversee the creation, release, and monitoring of Quality Plans, Bills of Materials, and work instructions.





Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:




  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is essential.

  • Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) or equivalent desirable.

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent practical Mechanical Engineering experience is desirable.



Skills & Experience:




  • Background in Project Management with a track record of managing and delivering multi-discipline projects.

  • Familiarity with project management principles, tools, and techniques.

  • Ability to plan, schedule, estimate, and manage risks across multi-disciplined teams.

  • Experience ensuring adherence to client contracts and specifications.

  • Previous experience managing projects over £10 million.

  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical roles.
