Overview of the team/department:
The Commodities business focuses on trading Metals, Oil, Gas, Power, Agriculture and Soft Commodities. We are in the process of building a large team trading European energy, reporting to a Senior Portfolio Manager.
Role requirements:
We’re looking for a motivated, analytical thinker to join a globally well-regarded Portfolio Manager, trading across European Gas & Power markets, at BlueCrest.
The right person will leverage an exceptional technical skill-set to undertake the following responsibilities:
Build analytical models, and assist in the development of tools required by the team.
Capability to apply comprehensive Statistical mathematics methods (such as Monte Carlo methods) in model building.
Deep understanding of machine learning techniques (such as gradient boosting) to digest large data sets to produce valuable fundamental analytics.
Understanding in storage modelling (intrinsic and extrinsic through Black-Scholes principles).
Probalistic approach to analytics creation.
Scenario analysis from outcome distributions.
Develop, validate and maintain trade valuation, risk management and financial simulation models.
Data Analysis: You will be managing, analysing and interpreting large data-sets to deliver research that will be helpful for trade idea formation.
Remain knowledgeable about cutting edge developments, analytical techniques, technologies and tools in quantitative analytics and leverage this to assist the team in gaining a competitive advantage.
Experience required:
Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Maths, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or related courses from a leading university.
Extensive modelling skills in Python coding language.
Professional experience in a data science/statistics is preferred.
Exposure to gas/power markets is preferred.
Open to fundamental Gas, LNG or Power analysts.
