Research Laboratory Technician (Tzelepis Lab) (Fixed Term)
Applications are invited for a Research Laboratory Technician position in the group of Dr Konstantinos Tzelepis within the Wellcome – MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI) based at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The Wellcome – Medical Research Council Cambridge Stem Cell Institute is an international centre of excellence for stem cell research and regenerative medicine. Scientists in the Institute collaborate to advance our knowledge of various stem cell types and to perform pioneering work in translational research areas, providing the foundation for new medical treatments (
The Tzelepis group is working at the forefront of bench-to-clinic research, focusing on the identification of the molecular pathogenesis and novel therapeutic targets in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and other aggressive malignancies (Yankova et al Nature 2021, Orellana et al Molecular Cell 2021, Tzelepis et al Nature Communications 2018, Barbieri et al Nature 2017, Tzelepis et al Cell Reports 2016). Our research is strongly translational and aims to bring about novel epitranscriptomic and immune-based therapies for aggressive malignancies. The group uses techniques of stem cell biology, high content imaging, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics & bioengineering.
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician with prior experience of laboratory-based biological research. The successful candidate will be expected to support the research team by providing technical assistance in research projects, such as maintaining mammalian cell culture, performing molecular biology assays (protein biochemistry, DNA & RNA extraction, quantitative PCR, molecular cloning) and aiding in the daily lab work using mouse models.
