What you will be doingAt Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School we provide a warm, stimulating and welcoming environment which gives a secure foundation for all children to become happy, confident, caring individuals who achieve personal success and develop a lifelong love of learning.
We are very proud of our school where the children have fabulous opportunities to experience learning first hand both in the school, the local environment and through many enrichment activities. We are particularly looking for a person who has experience of marketing and communication or who has experience of the school environment as a past primary school parent or involved in education. What difference you will makeThe main role of a Governor is to support and challenge the Headteacher and the staff – the phrase often used to describe this is ‘a critical friend’. We help the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to set and reach targets and to strive for excellence across the whole spectrum of school life. What additional skills or experience you should haveThe Governing Body meets twice every term, early evening or evening. We have two large Committees that each meet once a term – they are the Curriculum and Strategy Committee and Finance and General Purposes Committee. There is also a small HR committee. They in turn report to the main Governing Body. We try to limit meeting times to 2 hours! What training we will provide for youMostly on line training provided free. What you will get out of volunteering for usWe are happy to discuss the role of a School Governor with you and also to arrange for you to visit the School. For further information please look at the website: www.etzchaim-primaryschool.org.uk or email Sandra Clark - here
