Location: Leicester

Trust: L.E.A.D Academy Trust

Rate of pay: £83 - £97 per day

Contract type: Full time

Start Date: September 2024

 

The Supply register are delighted to be working in partnership with the L.E.A.D Academy Trust and we are currently recruiting for an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a foundation student and also small groups of children who need emotional and social support, starting from the new academic year.

What will the role consist of?


  • Looking after children's physical, social & emotional well-being
  • Keep records & attend review meetings if and when required
  • You will be required to use your innitiatve to adapt class work to suit student needs
  • Working alongside other members of staff to provide outstanding support to all student
  • Recognising signs of distress in children and offering reassurance.
  • Form positive relationships with children and support them with developing confidence in all areas
  • Working with children with different SEN requirements. This may be in small groups or on a 1-1 basis

Requirements:


  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (HLTA) or related Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Have experience working with in young people with SEN previously
  • Experience working with SEMH students
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have high expectations of all pupils
  • Have high expectations of themselves and work collaboratively with other staff
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding and commitment to Safeguarding
  • You must either have a DBS registered with the update service or be willing to process & pay for a new one  - this is essential
  • Must be available full time from September
