Salary £48,000 - £55,000We are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to join an International Law firm in London who offer agile working.The Senior Compliance Officer will work in a small team reporting to the Compliance Manager advising and training both fee earners and Business Functions employees at all levels on anti-money laundering and risk assessment issues.The role involves some analysis and report writing, research into companies, as well as advising and liaising with lawyers and other employees worldwide.The Senior Compliance Officer will be involved in various compliance projects and will be expected to work on their own initiative helping to improve and build upon the current systems. MAIN DUTIESDealing with new client matters and being responsible for the more complex matters including liaising with fee earners on the requirements for escrow agreements.Reviewing AML compliance and liaising with fee earners to ensure that outstanding information is requested.Undertaking conflict check analysis, identifying legal and commercial conflicts.Undertaking PEP, Sanctions and background checks as required.Maintaining registers including process agency matters, gifts and hospitality, data protection, PEPs and enhanced risk matters.Dealing with ad hoc queries, including requests for reopening files and background/company checks.Training new joiners as appropriate (secretaries, trainees and Business Functions employees).Providing mentoring and training support for the Junior Compliance Officer.Supporting the Director of Risk & Compliance with projects, updating policies and procedures, and tasks associated with the introduction of new regulations/legislations.EXPERIENCEA working knowledge of the current European and UK legal AML framework.Ability to analyse and use initiative.Training and mentoring skills.Intapp Open experience is of benefit.As well as the usual good organisational and communication skills!
