Job Description
A need has arisen for a highly motivated senior development engineer to work within PragmatIC’s cutting edge, expanding R&D team. If you are experienced in managing R&D projects and leading technology development activities including materials screening, process development and process integration, then this is the role for you! You will have a solid understanding of the fabrication and evaluation of thin films, micro-electronics and/or MEMS.
Key tasks
Manage research and development projects and activities
Lead complex experimental work, encompassing;
Detailed process flows, and device fabrication
Test, analysis and interpretation of device electrical performance
Refinement of processes
Evaluate process, device and technology requirements working closely with colleagues to introduce new technologies, resolve technical challenges and identify improvement opportunities
Qualifications and training
Demonstrable experience in a similar industrial or academic roleA degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic engineering, physics, materials science or chemistryGood computer literacy skills including documents, spreadsheets, databases and presentations
Skills and experience
A track record of innovation and problem-solving in the field of micro- and nano-electronics
Detailed knowledge of micro- or nano-scale device fabrication and characterisation techniques
Detailed knowledge of the measurement techniques and analysis skills associated with thin film and micro-electronic devices
A practical “hands-on” approach to problem solving
A critical, questioning approach to the analysis of complex trial data
Ability to work well with team members, industrial project partners and customers
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Willingness to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Clear understanding of the commercial considerations in research work
