By successfully engaging with local communities, breaking down barriers to participation and drawing insight from the feedback gathered, we support the council to make meaningful decisions.You will work with council colleagues, elected members, and liaise with communities and partners to co-ordinate and deliver engagement activities. You’ll also take a leading role in encouraging residents’ participation to inform service development.About youYou will be an experienced and professional lead team member, confident in planning and delivering consultation and engagement activities, end to end.On a practical level, you’ll demonstrate:excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to act as a point of specialist expertiseproven practical experience of developing and implementing effective engagement plans, managing delivery, and evaluation of resultsability to build effective relationships with a wide range of people both internally and externallyability to analyse consultation responses and present findings to a range of audiences in an engaging and concise mannerexperience managing a varied workload, which will include complex projects and the production of quality outcomes to deadlinesdiplomacy, tact, and political judgementassertiveness with the ability to deal positively with difficult queries and situations, making judgements and identifying solutionsAbout the teamWe are a small, friendly team, but we also have the chance to work with a wide range of people across different service areas within the council.
