We’re currently recruiting for a Trainee Planner to join our highly regarded Planning & Operations team here at Angel Trains:Are you a recent school leaver or university graduate looking to embark on a fresh and exciting career within the rail industry alongside completing a fully funded qualification?Do you have an analytical approach to problem solving and a keen eye for detail?If so, then this could the perfect role for you, and we would love to hear from you!About the role:A Trainee Planner at Angel Trains is responsible for planning and managing maintenance programmes for Angel Trains’ assets including rail vehicles and components in accordance with maintenance specifications and lease obligations. You will also be involved in Angel Trains’ logistics operations for the movement, storage and disposal of our rolling stock.As part of the role, you will complete a ‘Level 4 Passenger Transport Operations Manager’ Apprenticeship in partnership with the Chartered Institution of Railway Operators (CIRO). We also want to tailor the role to the successful candidate so the option to complete further qualifications in areas such as business or project management are encouraged.Key Responsibilities:Reviewing Network Rail’s Daily Log for significant incidents involving Angel Trains vehicles and highlight these appropriately.Ensuring that robust plans for vehicle and component maintenance are produced and, where appropriate, proactively amended to reflect emerging needs/circumstances.Contributing to heavy maintenance planning, lease review and matrix team meetings, as required. feUndertaking logistics administration duties including maintaining accurate storage/disposal records, movement KPI’s and updating of the industry R2 system.Checking and monitoring mileages through the FMS (Fleet Management System) planning system, adjusting plans as necessary.Qualifications & Experience:A recent school leaver or graduate with an analytical academic background.A keen interest in the railway industry and an understanding of who key industry stakeholders are.Previous experience with customer and/or supplier management.The ability to manage multiple tasks/projects in a timely and efficient manner.Industry experience (within heritage rail for example) is highly desirable but not mandatory.Why choose us?We believe our role as an employer is to empower our workforce to make independent, informed decisions, giving them new experiences and helping to develop their careers.
