Volunteer Project Manager - Armed Forces Community, North of England - VacancyWe are recruiting for a Volunteer Project Manager to join our friendly team at Step Together Volunteering, covering the North of England.Do you have direct experience or strong ties to the military? Are you looking for a role where you can offer your own lived experience to support and help change the lives of veterans or those who have or are either on recovery duty or facing discharge from the Armed Forces?We are a “family” of caring individuals who strive to help give people a new focus and a fresh start in life. Our ethos is to ‘connect, engage and empower’ – taking steps that will improve a person’s overall mental health and wellbeing through community volunteering. Our Armed Forces Community team provide in-depth, non-time limited support to veterans and personnel on recovery duty (PRD) across England. As a partner to the Personnel Recovery Centres (PRCs) and many charities, we help people make the transition from the Armed Forces into civilian life and support veterans who have “fallen through the cracks” and receiving little support long after their departure from military life.The primary objective of this post is to act as a coach and help veteran and PRD clients to:• Recognise their strengths and identify areas of interest to help them move forwards• Encourage them to understand challenges and barriers, and help find solutions• Explore volunteering opportunities within their community and help build social networks• Support them to identify routes for onwards progression (i.e., employment, training, further volunteering) or for a return to their role in the Armed Forces.Deadline for applications: Friday 18th August 5pm.To find out more and apply, please see our Job Description / Person Specification and Application Form below.
