Workshop/Mobile Fitter

Workshop/Mobile Fitter required for permanent role at expanding Suffolk based engineering company, who specialise in the assembly of large portable plant and equipment.  The successful candidate will be workshop and field based, covering Suffolk and Essex.  They will be responsible for carrying out plant maintenance, testing and troubleshooting at factory/workshop and customers sites.

Main duties will include:

• Carry out work in compliance with recommended manufacturers’ procedures and having regard for own health and safety, company employees, customers, general public and the environment.


• To understand, interpret and work to the relevant instructions and technical information available so as to carry out all tasks in the most efficient and safe manner.


• To communicate accurately with the company management, team members and customers alike on job requirements e.g. cost, downtime, and identifying cause.


• Maintain your own work area, whether on customers’ or workshop site in a clean and tidy state.


• Represent the company to the highest level, to be polite and cooperative with colleagues and customers alike, able to obtain signatures and names from site and to ensure the smooth processing of paper work.


• To comply with all PPE requirements, on site or specific customer site regulations.


• Carry out all reasonable requests, instructions or tasks set by the management

Ideal candidate will have NVQ or similar qualification in the maintenance of large engines, full driving license with up to 6 points and CSCS Card (Not essential).  Competitive basic salary c£38K (depending on experience) plus bonus and O/T, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and pension scheme, Van supplied.  Parking on site.  This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding business and grow with it.
