This is a firm that focusses upon its employees through social events, and flexible, hybrid working patterns, striving to make time spent in the office rewarding and enjoyable. br br As Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include: br br Prepare client accounts and tax returns based on information supplied by client, advise on tax payable and payment dates and to meet deadlines, finalise paperwork for dispatch to client and HMRC br br Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information for their accounts br br Working with Managers to develop knowledge of clients and their businesses so as to become their point of contact on day-to-day matters br br Assist the Partners and Managers with tax planning for existing and potential clients br br Support of partners and managers with specific assignments- e.g. business planning, advisory and tax matters br br Seek to identify business and personal tax planning opportunities, drawing to the attention of partners/ client as appropriate br br Monitor own job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets, meeting these targets and exceeding where possible br br Record own chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery br br Support trainees by providing on the job coaching br br Attend courses that are appropriate to job role br br Use appropriate support networks to clarify knowledge on complex queries such as CCH or software vendors br br Book-keeping, ledger maintenance, supplier maintenance and management accounts, as and when required br br Prepare client tax returns, advise on tax payable and payment dates and to meet deadlines br br Assisting clients with accounts software and other book-keeping queries as required br br Involvement in client seminars including attendance and set up where required br br Assist the Partner and Manager in taking responsibility for the proactive promotion of the Firm in conjunction with the marketing department br br To be considered for this Accounts Senior role, applicants will have the following skills, experience, and attributes: br br Be ACA or ACCA qualified (an exceptional finalist may be considered) with at least two years’ experience within practice br br Experience of accounting for agricultural and rural businesses would be an advantage br br Ability to prepare client accounts, tax, PAYE or VAT quickly and efficiently with a good knowledge of all taxes br br Be IT literate, with knowledge of cloud accounting software including Xero, CCH and Sage br br Have excellent communication, listening and problem-solving skills br br Be resilient, energetic, and analytical with an acute attention to detail br br Highly organised and self-motivated br br In addition to the above, you will live within commuting distance of Banbury and be willing to work outside normal hours as required. br br Submit your CV for this Accounts Senior role br br Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications for this role from candidates that do not have the right to work in the UK, or require visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.
