Civil Technician / BIM Designer

First People Solutions is on the lookout for a Civil Technician in the Glasgow area who is open to exploring new opportunities. We're working with a globally renowned consulting engineer with a rich legacy in engineering and design.

Currently, they are seeking a skilled technician to join their Power & Energy Infrastructure team. In this role, you'll contribute your technical expertise to the design and development of civil infrastructure supporting energy projects.

Projects include wind farms, grid infrastructure, road improvements, and other highway elements crucial to the construction and operation of power and energy infrastructure. If you have experience in highways, drainage, or roads, your skills are highly transferable to this growing sector.

What we need from you:

  • HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 3-6 years of experience working within a design engineering environment in the UK
  • Experience in the design of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), surface water drainage network, roads, or highways
  • Confident in producing accurate drawings and ensuring drawings meet industry standards
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microdrainage
