Engineering Direct are exclusively working with our client to recruit for their next EDS Engineering Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. Our client is a supplier to some of biggest automotive companies in the world.



The Role



The successful candidate would manage guest engineering activities across the customer base throughout vehicle development and mass production phases. They will ensure customer satisfaction with support provided by supplying skilled personnel to manage all aspects of vehicle design change and release of information both onsite with the customer and client alike.



To manage vehicle development design release timing in conjunction with the customer to ensure client is provided with high quality information to support, manufacture and deliver.



To constantly review and develop guest engineering systems and procedures to identify areas of improvement to achieve greater efficiency both inside the customer site as well as interaction with the client.



Periodically review with customer all aspects of guest engineering support, for example: timescale adherence, quality of data release and so on



To drive to effective management of all activity through guest engineering and ADO functions to ensure the creation of feasible cost reduction proposals and provide accurate and complete data internally and to customer�



To support the Business Manager in identifying guest engineering and customer requirements in line with vehicle RFQ and ongoing projects, including identifying budget levels for CAD, facilities and additional training requirements for team members



Provide a main point of contact for guest engineering for both management group as well as the customer. To ensure that the guest engineering function is running efficiently and meeting its targets for vehicle development schedules



The Candidate




  • Extensive experience in harness design environment and vehicle EDS.

  • Experience of wire harness build and manufacturing processes

  • Be able to communicate effectively at all levels with emphasis on a high degree of Customer contact / liaison�

  • HND / degree level in an Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering and have knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and circuits

  • Eligibility to work in the UK, no sponsorship will be provided
