About Us:

My client is a well-established, financially stable main contractor based in Northamptonshire. Specialising in design and build (D&B) projects, we deliver high-quality construction solutions for a diverse portfolio of projects up to �12 million in value. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to fostering professional growth, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team.



Role Overview:

As a Construction Estimator, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of projects by providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring competitive and profitable bids. Working closely with clients, design teams, and subcontractors, you will analyse project requirements, assess costs, and develop strategies to secure new business while maintaining our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for D&B projects up to �12 million in value.

  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop comprehensive estimates.

  • Collaborate with clients, design consultants, and project managers to ensure project goals are met.

  • Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities associated with project bids.

  • Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring best value.

  • Prepare tender submissions, including detailed pricing schedules and supporting documentation.

  • Participate in pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.

  • Keep abreast of market trends, materials costs, and industry developments.



Candidate Requirements:




  • Experience:�Demonstrable experience in a construction estimating role, ideally with D&B projects and values up to �12M.

  • Skills:�Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Knowledge:�Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.

  • Software:�Proficient in relevant estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Qualifications:�Relevant qualifications in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field are advantageous but not essential.

  • Attributes:�Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
