Job Details:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our UK Data Centre. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, implementation, and support of our Data Centre, gaining hands-on experience in High Performance Computing (HPC). This role offers invaluable industry knowledge and technical expertise in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hardware Maintenance:
  • CPU/GPU systems
  • Oil-immersion and air-cooled servers
  • Storage solutions
  • Interactive servers
  • Infrastructure services
• Operational Management:
  • Spare parts inventory and management
  • Hardware installation and decommissioning
  • Data centre upkeep and rack cabling standards
  • Equipment audits and lease management
• IT Support & Documentation:
  • Incident, problem, and change management
  • Continual service improvement
  • Documentation and process management
• Project Involvement:
  • Participate in the deployment of new systems and applications
  • Attend project meetings and troubleshooting sessions

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong desire to learn and grow in a technical environment
• Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
• IT literacy with knowledge of Linux distributions
• A problem-solving mindset with a delivery-focused approach
• Technical proficiency in HPC system architecture
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic troubleshooting knowledge

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Information Systems

Desired Skills & Learning Areas:

• HPC systems architecture (compute and storage)
• Linux distributions and system administration

• Open-source analytics and monitoring software
• Computational thinking
