Our client offers a wide-ranging curriculum to Further Education students, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness, Uniformed Public Services and Veterinary Nursing.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional learning needs in educational settings and maintain high quality records of that support in line with identified needs and support strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing assistance to students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or other barriers to learning to ensure they can engage with coursework and practical tasks related to animal care, welfare, and management.
Helping students during classroom lessons, ensuring they understand the material being taught and can complete tasks such as note-taking, reading, or following instructions
Helping students become more independent in their learning by promoting self-confidence, time management, and study skills
Accompany students on residential, day trip or work experience as required
Ensuring students adhere to health and safety protocols, particularly in environments where animals are present. This includes using personal protective equipment (PPE) and understanding the risks associated with handling animals
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a learning support assistant, teaching assistant, or in a similar educational support role, particularly with students with learning difficulties or disabilities
Practical experience in handling and caring for animals, particularly in environments such as zoos, animal shelters, farms, or veterinary settings, can be advantageous
Shifts & Pay:
4 days per week between Monday and Friday 8:30am-4:00pm (rota will be provided at the start of assignment)
£12.50ph
