Job Role: Quantity Surveyor Are you a Quantity Surveyor with expertise in dispute resolution? Our public sector client is seeking a skilled professional to focus on managing contractual disputes and ensuring smooth resolution processes for critical public projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of contract law and cost management in the public sector. Key Responsibilities for the Quantity Surveyor - Dispute Resolution: Dispute Management: Lead the resolution of contractual disputes, ensuring that claims are handled promptly and fairly. Provide expert advice on contractual entitlements and liabilities. Contract Review and Compliance: Analyze contracts to identify potential areas of contention, ensuring adherence to public sector regulations and best practices. Cost Assessment for Disputes: Evaluate claims and variations, preparing detailed cost assessments to support dispute resolution processes. Risk Analysis: Identify and assess risks related to project disputes. Propose effective mitigation strategies to minimize future conflict. Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a mediator between project teams, contractors, and suppliers to resolve disputes amicably and maintain strong working relationships. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all disputes and resolutions. Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management and external stakeholders. Support Legal Processes: Work closely with legal teams when disputes escalate, providing accurate financial and contractual information to support legal proceedings. Essential Skills and Experience for the Quantity Surveyor - Dispute Resolution: Specialized Expertise: Proven experience in quantity surveying with a focus on dispute resolution, preferably within the public sector. Strong Knowledge Base: In-depth understanding of contract law, dispute resolution techniques, and cost management. Analytical and Negotiation Skills: Ability to assess complex situations, identify solutions, and negotiate effectively with all parties involved. Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex contractual issues to a diverse audience. Qualifications: A professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., RICS-accredited degree) is required.
