Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Year Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive early years team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to support the learning and development of their youngest pupils, helping to create a positive foundation for their education. This role begins ASAP in February 2025.

Duties of a Reception Year Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons and activities
  • \n
  • Assist in creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for young children
  • \n
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to support their learning and development
  • \n
  • Encourage children’s social, emotional, and personal development through play and structured activities
  • \n
  • Help with classroom preparation, organisation, and tidying
  • \n
  • Support children with early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
  • \n
  • Supervise and engage with children during playtime and lunchtime
  • \n
  • Provide care and support for children, including those with additional needs
  • \n
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
  • \n

Ideal Reception Year Teaching Assistant:

    \n
  • A relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate, CACHE, or equivalent)
  • \n
  • Experience working in an Early Years or Reception class setting
  • \n
  • A passion for working with young children and supporting their development
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • \n
  • Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach to working with children
  • \n
  • An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • \n
