Software Engineer

Prime Appointments are currently looking for a talented Software Engineer to join a fast growing electronics manufacturer based on the outskirts of Colchester. They are looking for a Software Engineer who can design, develop and maintain software and Hardware solutions for Automated Test Equipment.

As a Software Engineer you will be required to:

• Analyse and support customer requirements to deliver tailored solutions
• Design and maintain software applications for ATE systems
• Provide hardware and software support to production test departments
• Create and maintain detailed, customer-oriented documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate innovative solutions
• Troubleshoot, integrate, and optimise ATE systems for performance and reliability

Skills and Qualifications required:

• Proficiency in programming with C/C++ on Windows and Linux platforms.
• Familiarity with object-oriented languages like C# and Python.
• Experience using IDEs such as Visual Studio or JetBrains.
• Working knowledge of version control systems, particularly GIT.
• Solid communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of electronics and PC hardware interfacing.
• Knowledge of international standards
• Experience in the Test and Measurement industry or with embedded systems development.
• Ability to excel in fast-paced development environments.
