A Helpful Foundation Project
The Multan Community Project being built in Pakistan is a symbol of hope for the less fortunate. Founded by Irfaan Hussain, the project aims to provide a safe haven for the local youth, get them off the streets, and provide them with access to education.
The Story: A Community United
To those who have been with us for a while know that our founder Irfaan Hussain loves helping people. He launched A Helpful Foundation and several other charitable projects years ago with the hope of creating a direct impact on the lives of those in need. With a team and network in Pakistan, we’re able to better understand the needs and challenged facing the community and can ensure that our donations and help are going directly to those who need it need it most.
Haafiz Saab's work distributing monthly ration bags from his rickshaw was the starting point for this project. His tireless efforts to help those in need have inspired us all to work together to create a better future for the community. Haafiz Saab's vision of a community united has become a reality with this project.
As time passed, Haafiz Saab’s rickshaw became a beacon of hope for the less fortunate and people would rush to him seeking food and assistance, even when he wasn’t handing out the ration bags. People would even wait outside his house for guidance and advice.
This was a clear indicator that we were doing something right.
An individual by the name of Irfan was moved by the positive impact and outcomes of our efforts and donated his land to construct a mosque for the community. Without this donation, we wouldn’t be able to launch this project.
The Plan: A Place for Prayer, Education and Employment
The Multan Community Project is more than just a building. The community centre will serve as a mosque (prayer area), a madrasa for children (school - zakat applicable), meal centre for the less fortunate and a job and advice centre. The aim is to provide a safe space for vulnerable children to learn and access educational resources, as well as offer guidance and support for those in need of employment.
Haafiz Saab would often see children and young adults roaming the streets looking for money rather than going to school as a means to provide for their families. With this community centre, we can ensure children are getting an education and getting off the streets.
With no other mosques close by and the nearest one only catering to 20 people, the community centre being build will accommodate to more than 500 people.
The Impact: A Brighter Future for the Community
The community centre being built in Multan, Pakistan, serves as a place of hope for the less fortunate. It has already created local jobs for the people working on construction and is actively bringing the community together.
The current spend on the project is over £3500 and the projected further costs needed are £10000 for construction and £6500 for furniture, fixtures and equipment. The project is still in its early stages, but the benefits for the community are clear. The local youth will have access to education and employment opportunities, and the less fortunate will have access to essential meals and support.
