This opportunity will see you join a privately owned, highly entrepreneurial Retail and Wholesale business on a fixed term contract for a 6 month period. This position sits within the central finance function and will take responsibility for producing the group and financial/statutory accounts for two key group entities. The Group is predominately UK based but there are some international entities.
This role requires a qualified accountant with extensive financial accounting experience, ideally gained within a multi-entity organisation. You will need to be highly organised, have great communication skills and want to work within a dynamic organisation that has a great culture and management team.
This is a 6 months fixed term contract
As part of a team the responsibilities of the role include:
Manage and coordinate the preparation of the statutory financial statements for group and individual entities
Manage the successful end to end delivery of the external audits
Ensure the timely delivery of statutory filings and compliance
Responsible for tax including Corporation Tax, VAT, Tax relief; Coordinate tax analysis, calculations and filing; liaising with external tax advisor
Review and develop best practice for Accounting, Tax & Compliance
Review and develop the Transfer Pricing Policy and Tax Strategy
Prepare accounting for Acquisitions, Disposals and Hive Ups
Manage a team member responsible for Balance Sheet Rex, Payroll Accounting, impairment analysis, management recharges
Corporate Governance, supporting in the review of the company’s controls framework, design and implementation of revised processes
Provide support in terms of training and development to the off-shore Shared Service Centre Finance Team.
Candidate Requirements
:
Fully Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting background in FRS102 for Large UK Companies
Experience of working or training gained within an accountancy practice, ideally top 20 UK firm.
Experience of working within, managing and mentoring an off-shore SSC
Exceptional technical accounting experience
Group consolidations experience
Strong working knowledge of Taxation
Advanced Excel skills
Experience in change management and process reengineering
Hands on approach, analytical and detail orientated
Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, enjoys problem solving and sees a task through to completion
Confident, clear communicator
Team player with flexible approach
Great relationship builder
