11 Teaching Assistant - Abergavenny

Prospero Teaching are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant and SEN specialist to deliver person centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions and SEMH needs. You will be working in a school and supporting children and young people who need 1:1 support for multiple reasons.CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS:Location: AbergavennyPosition: SEN and Behaviour specialist teaching assistantType of work: Long TermStart date: September 2024Duration / Likely Duration: 1 Academic YearEnd date (if applicable): Summer 2025Contract type: Full timeFull time/part time: Full timeMinimum rate of pay: £93.60 per dayHours 8:30 am 3.30pmEXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONSTeaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent is preferredPrevious experience working in a UK school or with children of a similar ageUp to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided)You must have: - Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous - The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles - Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the students - Willingness to enhance skills with professional training and developmentThis is a great opportunity, to help enrich and develop vulnerable young people's lives.
