5 x Water Metering Operatives

VGC Group are seeking 5 x Metering Operatives to start ASAP on the South West Water Framework, based out of the Redruth Depot.

Duration: Runs into 2026

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5pm with 30 minute breaks

Rates: £12.60 Paye or £16.67 PAYE Umbrella

As a Metering Operative, you'll be working within the South West Water team, supporting them in working on schemes including mains repairs, new connections, and metering, all within a team that values comradery and collaboration, whilst maintaining high standards of health and safety. PPE will be provided.

Your tasks will include:

• Exchange water meters, replacing old with new.
• Ensure levels of productivity working within timescales and to targets such as 30 jobs per day.
• Ensure that all relevant documentation is updated on each job using a tablet.
• Usign meter keys and basic hand tools.
• Recording meter readings accurately, inputting them correctly to ensure correct payments for SWW customers.
• You will also be part of a rapid response team that works around the clock to deliver and restore clean water

Role Requirements:

- Full UK Driving License

- Training to obtain EUSR provided if required
