Accountant Core3 are exclusively partnering with a client in Bristol with a well-established property company who are looking for an Accountant to join their team.
This role offers a competitive salary pro rata, benefits, and flexible part-time hours (3-4 days per week).
About the Company Founded in the 50's as a construction company, this family-run business pivoted to property development, investments and management in the 1970s. Today, as well as developing some sites, it primarily owns and manages a portfolio of commercial properties, including office blocks, shops, restaurants, and cafés across the Southwest. The company prides itself on stability and fostering a working environment where people are trusted with autonomy and ownership.
The company provides a small, stable, working environment with a team of three support staff and two active directors. This role suits someone who thrives in a small team setting, enjoys independence, and takes pride in their work.
How You'll Make an Impact We are seeking an Accountant to work alongside the current finance lead and accounts assistant to support the company's financial operations. The role offers flexibility, with responsibilities shaped around your experience and the company's needs.
The primary focus of the role includes:
Assisting with all aspects related to rents and service charges, including reflecting least events, and tenant rent collection processes.
Payment of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring processes are well-managed and director-approved.
Overseeing financial administration, including bookkeeping, payroll processing, CIS and VAT reporting (including partial exemptions).
Preparing quarterly management accounts for all associated companies.
Assisting with year-end accounts and liaising with external auditors.
This role will utilise BlueBox, a specialised accounting system widely used by property management firms.
Why We Are Excited About You You are a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional who enjoys working autonomously within a small, supportive team. You have prior experience in accounting, and can adapt to a stable, slower-paced work environment.
Key qualifications and skills include:
Proven accounting experience ideally up to Management Accounts preparation.
Strong skills in Excel and general reconciliation skills.
A self-starter with excellent organisational and time-management skills.
A relevant accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) is preferred but not essential.
Experience with property sector accounting or similar software would be advantageous, but not essential.

£40,000-£50,000 pro rata depending on experience and hours worked, (c3-4 days per week).
23 days holiday (pro rata), six additional pro-rated office closure days (5 at Christmas, 1 at Easter), plus bank holidays.

Hybrid working - c3 days per week in the office during core hours (11am-3pm)
