What's involved with this role: Role: Accounting Technician Belfast Financial Services Job Ref: 1818/2806 Pay Rate: £17.09 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 37 hours per week Contract Length: Initially 12 months Location: Belfast - Hybrid 1 day per week in the office We are seeking an Accountant Technician to assist the lead accountant to monitor project procurement contracts, invoices, payments, and payment trackers. Key responsibilities: Assist with the management of the Finance admin team Review and approval of invoicing, payments and purchase orders, ensure the payments are processed within recommended timescales Completion of various finance returns as necessary Review and completion of Journals Assist with tracking of budget spend Contribute to financial planning exercises including profiling of Project Budget. Key requirements: Experience, of at least 6 months, of working within an Accounts Payable and an Accounts receivable function within a finance team Full member of an Accounting Technician body. Experience of building positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, including senior managers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience of managing a team of staff to deliver outcomes against competing priorities. Ability to work on own initiative, delivering results and managing work in a complex and fast moving environment and subject to competing priorities. Ability to identify, resolve or escalate the issues and find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
