Accounts and Tax Senior - Leicester

We are currently seeking an Accounts and Tax Senior to join our team in Leicester working hybrid a 37.5 hour week and our client can offer flexible working hours, as the Accounts and Tax Senior you will report directly to the Director and senior management, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with clients, predominantly providing support with management accounts and year-end accounts. You will also have the chance to work on various other projects as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce account working files and resolve queries with clients.
  • Prepare discussion points for senior managers or partners.
  • Liaise with HMRC, including handling compliance checks.
  • Work within agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Produce draft tax computations and provisions for inclusion in accounts.
  • Ensure statutory disclosures are included per company checklists.
  • Plan and control professional work within the firm's standard procedures, identifying basic planning opportunities.
  • Attend training and seminars to further develop technical and personal skills.
  • Contribute to tax advisory projects and ensure compliance with technical standards.
  • Seek opportunities to increase client billings and attract new clients.

Your Experience:

  • Previous experience in an accounting firm.
  • Mixed tax experience gained in a practice environment.
  • Familiarity with Iris and Xero is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.
  • Experience with cloud-based accountancy software.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified (part-qualified candidates will be considered with a full study support package available).
