Accounts Assistant – Field & FlowerField & Flower was founded in 2011 by two friends after meeting at agricultural university, one a farmer and the other a food lover. We are a leading UK food subscription business specialising in grass fed, free-range meat and responsibly caught fish. We also offer a range of artisan cheese, scotch eggs, pies, charcuterie, stocks, salts, and seasonings – supporting livestock, local livelihoods and a living planet with every product we sell.Job overviewWe are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing the company's financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounting processes, have a strong eye for detail and accuracy, is proactive and keen to learn.Key ResponsibilitiesYour days will be varied, depending on the needs of the business. Duties will include, but are not limited to:Purchase ledger: maintain purchase ledger, allocating payments, reconciling major suppliers’ statements monthly, requesting credits.Matching of purchase invoices to the purchase orders using our be-spoke purchase order system.Sales ledger: maintenance of sales ledger, minimal as sales receipt based business, credit control.Ensuring that all accounts activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures.Dealing with external and internal queries by phone and email.Daily bank feed matching and monthly bank reconciliations; petty cash control and expenses management.Preparing supplier payments for the authorisation of the weekly payment run, actioning and responding to queries. Sending supplier remittances and updating live cashflow spreadsheet for payments.Owning schedule of supplier bank details.Assist in the preparation of the monthly VAT return by ensuring VAT reclaimed where eligible.Ownership of the asset register.Ad hoc duties to assist the Financial Analyst and Head of Finance at Operations site.Key Skills RequiredAAT part or fully qualified (qualified by experience would also be considered)Knowledge of Sage or understanding of cloud-based systems with the aptitude to pick up new ERPsGood Microsoft Excel skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Employment benefitsPrivate health and dental care40% off all Field & Flower productsFriends & family discountA Social team with regular meet upsBirthday day offIncludedNEST Pension scheme.30 days annual leave (pro-rata)Free parking on site.More infoHours: 22-24 hours a week across 4 to 5 daysBased at our Operations base in Shepton Mallet.Pay: £25000-£27000pa pro-rata - dependant on experience
