Job Type: Permanent Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum Location: Bromsgrove Hours: Mon-Thurs (9-5) and Fri (9-4) Your new company Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be working exclusively with an excellent business based in Bromsgrove. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small but growing organisation in the construction and housebuilding sector. Due to retirement, my client is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. Your new role As number one in finance, you will report into the Director of the business and play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. Main duties: Produce monthly accounts to trial balance Monitor multi-company bank accounts Bank reconciliations Control account reconciliations Overseeing sales and purchase ledger activities Control of payments to suppliers Credit card analysis and petty cash VAT returns Cashflow reporting Project costing analysis of multiple sites Weekly and monthly payroll PAYE and NIC reconciliation CIS payments and completion of returns to HMRC Support with year-end audit reports Management of one finance individual What you'll need to succeed AAT qualified (or similar) or qualified by experience Understanding of double entry bookkeeping and excellent knowledge of key day-to-day financial activities Previous experience of working in hands-on, financial management positions Submission of VAT returns using Sage 50 Construction background and knowledge of CIS (highly desirable) Strong administration and analytical skills Ability to manage own time and workload Comfortable getting stuck in with a 'sleeves rolled up approach' IT literate - proficient with MS Excel and experience of using Sage 50 Accounts (knowledge of BrightPay payroll package would also be an advantage) What you'll get in return In return, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum and be given the chance to take on a varied, all-encompassing role in a lovely organisation.
