Purpose of the Post:
Customer Services/Call Centre Secretarial & Administration This is the front door for Adult Social Care. The phone lines are busy and administrator will need to be able to use LAS system to support call taking. Calls may be for advice, signposting, queries on open cases or creation of new cases. Calls can be sensitive in nature.
To process all incoming referrals to adult social care.
Career Link Grade:
This post has a career link grade. To progress from Grade D to Grade F will require the post holder to have the ability to make independent decisions regarding referral processing, case complexity and closure of low level safeguarding concerns.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To process safeguarding concerns and assessment requests received by e-mail, letter, via the portal and by telephone, ensuring that the appropriate level of detail is received.
To make referrals to other agencies/departments where appropriate e.g. welfare rights, voluntary sector providers.
To provide administrative support to the Access Safeguarding Team in terms of answering the telephone, taking messages and recording calls on the social call database.
When required to provide general clerical/ administrative support e.g. photocopying, filing, completion of standard forms, responding to routine correspondence
Set up and maintain manual and computerised records/ management information systems or service specific management information systems.
Sort and distribute mail.
Operate relevant equipment /ICT packages (e.g. word, excel, databases, spreadsheets, internet).
Maintain stock and supplies, ordering of stationary and other supplies.
Undertake general financial administration e.g. processing orders.
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to the job holders area of work.
Where appropriate provide supervision for other staff carrying out routine administrative tasks.
Demonstrate duties and allocate work to other members of staff.
Support the role of other professionals.
Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
Contribute to the overall ethos of the council.
To undertake duties and responsibilities in accordance with the councils policy and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
Admin qualification to� Level 2� or equivalent� experience in relevant discipline
Good numeracy and literacy
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
General clerical/administrative/financial work
Experience in supporting clerical/administrative services for other services.
A proven commitment to the principles of Equality and Diversity.
Experience of working with/around customer centred services
Effective use of ICT packages
Use of relevant equipment /resources
Good keyboard skills
Knowledge of relevant polices /codes of practice & awareness of legislation relating to adult social care.
Good interpersonal skills
