Working flexible shifts at Aldrington Centre, you will diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of mental health, behavioural and emotional disorders in the role of Psychiatric Doctor.

\n

The setting in which you are based will be wide-ranging too. As a Psychiatric Doctor you may be based in either inpatients or outpatients at Aldrington Centre, or rehabilitation environments. You may need to visit your patients in residential care, prisons, schools, or in their own homes.

\n

Skills focus

\n

The work of a Psychiatrist is always engaging and challenging, sometimes moving, occasionally frustrating but often rewarding, sometimes when this is least expected. You will frequently liaise with and learn from highly experienced colleagues in other medical fields such as general medicine, radiology, or neurology and with non-medical colleagues including psychologists and social workers. There is always someone on hand to turn to for advice, or to chat to.

• In depth knowledge of current mental health theory and treatments

Main Duties/Responsibilities

\n

As a Psychiatry Doctor with Aldrington Centre you will:

\n

• Work with patients experiencing a range of mental health problems
\n
• Assess and evaluate patients
\n
• Analyse data and test results to form accurate diagnoses
\n
• Create appropriate and bespoke treatment plans for patients
\n
• Effectively communicate plans of action to other team members (i.e., nursing staff, social workers, etc.)
\n
• Ensure consistency throughout the duration of treatment
\n
• Prescribe and administer medications
\n
• Recognise signs of conditions worsening and intervene where people are at risk of self-harming or hurting others
\n
• Keep patient records and medical histories updated
\n
• Uphold the highest standards of practice and care and act as a professional representative of your organisation
\n
• Research your specialist area(s) and remain up to date with the latest medical guidelines
\n
• Promote health and wellbeing best practices
\n

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

\n

Essential

\n

\n
• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
\n
• Full registration with the GMC
\n
• A full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
\n
